Another one from the Sight & Sound list that I had never heard of before and went in knowing nothing about (which is maybe the best way). It's hard to even describe what this is about, but it's a playful, strange, infectiously joyful fantasy in which two women come upon a mansion in which they watch strangers repeatedly reenact a melodramatic narrative of past events. Along with Bergman's Persona and The Silence, this seems like another one that must've been an influence on David Lynch. (It's also somewhat helpful to know that apparently in French, "to go boating" isn't literal, it's an expression meaning “to get taken for a ride” or “get caught up in a story,” which makes the title make a lot more sense.)
