Bicycle Thieves (1948)

The Reveal has been going through the entire 2022 Sight & Sound Top 100 Greatest Films of All Time list and doing conversational posts about each one, so I’ve been watching/rewatching most of those as they get to them. I last watched this maybe a decade ago and it’s just as good as I remember. For the story nerds out there, the opening scenes are master class in efficiently establishing stakes and imbuing an object with meaning.
