The Frames

Once is a good movie, and Glen Hansard’s indie band The Frames is also very good. (Two of the standout songs on the Once soundtrack—Falling Slowly and When Your Mind’s Made Up—also appear on the 2006 Frames album The Cost as well as on the Swell Season’s debut. Also, full respect to songwriters who will just casually drop a 5/4 time signature on you.) Fitzcarraldo and The Cost are great, and Set List is a solid live album. (Strict Joy by the Swell Season, his folk duo with Markéta Irglová, is also very good.)
