Devil in a Blue Dress (1995)

Apparently intended to be the first in a series of movies based on Walter Mosley’s Easy Rawlins character, and it’s our loss that that never happened. Denzel Washington stars as Rawlins, who gets roped into helping locate a missing woman in post-WWII Los Angeles, alongside a great early supporting turn from Don Cheadle.
