I lost a lot of my taste for the horror genre at some point, but this is one I'll go to bat for. The premise—a shapeshifting being that’s invisible to everyone else and that, wherever you are, is always walking steadily, implacably toward you, all the time, day and night—is viscerally compelling while also carrying plenty of thematic/metaphorical depth. Like a lot of horror movies, it loses some of its edge once the main characters start to actually do battle with the being, but everything else about it is viscerally compelling, suspenseful, and well executed. I've probably thought about this at least once every week or two since I first saw it.
