The Spirit of the Beehive (1973)

Also from the Sight & Sound list—a beautifully shot, somewhat allegorical story set just after the Spanish Civil War, in which a small girl in an isolated village becomes fascinated with the 1931 Frankenstein movie. I don't love everything on that list, but I loved this one (and unlike, say, Bicycle Thieves, I had never even heard of it before).
