That Thing You Do! (1996)

A light, breezy movie written and directed by Tom Hanks, about a sixties band that briefly makes it big when their fill-in drummer impulsively speeds up their ballad at a show and turns it into a pop sensation. Young Steve Zahn is particularly good in this, and Adam Schlesinger (RIP) wrote a pitch-perfect title track.
