I’ve lived in a place where summer humidity is A Thing for over 20 years, and I only learned a couple years ago that the relative humidity number in weather data is not really what determines how humid it feels outside—it’s the dew point. 55 or lower is fine, 55–65 starts to get gross, and 65 or higher is really gross.
(I use the extremely customizable CARROT Weather app on my phone, which among many other features lets you add dew point to the current conditions and forecast.)
